Early Victorian Mahogany Pedestal Desk

A superb early Victorian mahogany pedestal desk, with original distressed, blind tooled black leather top. The front with an arrangement of 9 graduated drawers, the reverse fitted with 2 locking cupboard doors and 3 faux drawer fronts which open to reveal the unique feature of an arrangement of secret pigeon holes. All raised on plinth bases, fully restored and offered in showroom condition.

Provenance: Sourced by direct descent from the family of Sir Charles Barry 1795 - 1860, the British architect best known for his role in the rebuilding of the Palace of Westminster during the mid-19th century.
